The United Nations Talent Defense Initiative was formed by Security Council resolution in early 1949 to supplement UN Peacekeeping operations. Talents of the UNTDI are supplied by UN member nations and are commonly rotated out. This results in a fluctuating pool of Talents that can often prove a logistical difficulty for UNTDI operations. The member nations, however, refuse to be quasi-permanently deprived of Talents who are often unique in their particular abilities, choosing slight logistical chaos over long-term UN deployment.
